Terms of use
By using WildScope, you agree to these terms. The site is an educational reference, not a professional service.
Acceptance
These terms apply to your use of WildScope and its content. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The site may change, suspend or remove any page at any time.
Educational purpose
WildScope provides general educational information about invasive plants, pests and management methods. It is not a diagnostic service, a pesticide recommendation, a removal service, a legal opinion or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or your state extension service.
Identification limits
A description or photograph can omit a decisive character, and similar species can be confused. Do not rely on this site alone for a safety-critical identification, a regulated-species decision or a treatment plan. Confirm the answer with a qualified professional, your extension service or the relevant agency.
Herbicide, pesticide and safety information
Any mention of a management method is general information, not a prescription. Always read and follow the product label, follow state and local law, and use the protective equipment the label requires. WildScope does not recommend off-label use, homemade pesticide recipes or ignoring a label restriction.
Accuracy and sources
We work from official and extension sources and show a review date, but we do not warrant that every page is complete, current or error-free. Rules and scientific understanding change. If you find an error, send a correction through the contact route.
External links
Links to government, university and other third-party sites are provided for reference. WildScope does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Advertising
WildScope displays third-party advertising supplied by Adsterra. Ads are labeled Advertisement and appear in fixed slots that are separate from the editorial text. An ad is not an endorsement of the advertised product or service, and WildScope is not responsible for the content of an ad or for the site it links to. Advertising does not influence editorial content: advertisers do not review, approve or commission an identification, a comparison, a guide or a management recommendation.
Adsterra and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies as described in the privacy policy. Your use of an advertiser's site is governed by that advertiser's own terms and privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The text, layout and original graphics on WildScope are owned by WildScope unless a page says otherwise. You may link to pages and quote short excerpts with attribution for commentary, teaching or reporting. Do not republish a full page, scrape the site at scale or use the content to train a commercial model without written permission. Third-party images, when present, remain under the license stated in the image credit.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, bypass security controls, send automated requests that degrade service, or use the site to distribute malware or unlawful content. Do not misrepresent an identification or a regulatory statement from this site as advice from an agency.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, WildScope disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so part of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, WildScope is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the site changes. The version published on this page is the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
